⎔ This month as our guest workshop leader, we have the super talented Eva Åkesson, Halifax based Stop Motion animator and Model Maker. Eva has a passion for crafting and using a range of techniques and materials to craft her models and puppets. Her work is inspired by nature and folklore.

⎔ Eva will be teaching us all about DIY stop frame animation with minimal resources.

What you will be doing:

✐ ANI APPS! (using your phone) - intro to free iPhone and Android stop motion apps explained step by step. Participants will be taught how to navigate around the applications and will be explained the three basic principles of animation.

✐ ANIMATE THIS! (Morphing and Looping) - Demonstrationof morphing shapes: Participants will take simple shapes and images and morph them into 12 frames so that they can be looped to create mini animations.

✐ LETS MAKE AN ANIMATION - Working in pairs or smaller groups - Using materials provided + a frame guide (lego, sticks, paper, card - feel free to bring your own!) participants will be creating animation on whatever they desire using the simple techniques learnt earlier. You will also be shown how to export your animation that you can also post on social media!

⎔ If you enjoy working with people & possess any skill that you would like to share (photography/print/painting/textiles/coding/languages/anything else) then please send us an email to tenderhandspress@gmail.com to lead a workshop!

✄ MAKE STUFF is series of creative skill-sharing workshops, offering a space to be playful, enhancing your skills, encouraging collaboration & participation. Open to all who seek comfort through making. Workshops run on the last Saturday of every month.
